NGORONGORO CRATER

The Ngorongoro crater remains the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and one of the best conservation areas to see the Big Five in Tanzania. Olduvai Gorge - Cradle of Mankind The first early human species, Homo habilis, occupied Olduvai Gorge approximately 1.9 million years ago and visitors can tour the steep-sided ravine in the Great Rift Valley.

A BREATHTAKING WATERFALL & ELEPHANT CAVES

Enjoy spectacular views of the Endoro Waterfall and hike through the famous Elephant Caves. This is a guided tour and the guides will share fascinating stories on how and why elephants are digging up the earth to ingest the vitamin and mineral rich soil for more than 150 years.

STUNNING BACKCOUNTRY VIEWS OF COFFEE PLANTATIONS

Although Tanzanian coffee may not have the international recognition of coffee from nearby countries such as Ethiopia and Kenya, coffee has been grown in Tanzania for centuries and is one of the country’s largest exports. Karatu is an ideal growing area because of the mineral-rich volcanic soil and the altitude of the northern highlands. Visit the numerous coffee plantations in the area, including the plantation at Gibb’s Farm, Shangri-La Estate which produces Ngorongoro Mountain Coffee, Blackburn Coffee Estate, Ascona and Edelweiss, and Ngila Coffee Estate.

A MAJESTIC LAKE & NATIONAL PARK

One of Tanzania’s smallest parks, Lake Manyara is also one of its most scenic. With a breathtaking landscape at the base of the Rift Valley’s western escarpment, Ernest Hemingway described the incredible scenery as the loveliest he had seen in Africa. Dominated by the large alkaline lake, which attracts a huge variety of both birds and wildlife, the park is a favorite of many locals and tourists.
